Breaking News: #MissingHiker in Strathcona Park Found

The Vancouver Island hiker missing since last week in Strathcona Park has been found alive.

Naswell went missing after he was supposed to summit Mount Albert Edward last Wednesday with a couple he’d met on the trail. They turned back, but he continued, leaving behind his equipment. He was wearing only basic clothing and had a fanny pack with him. One of the teams found he had left behind some identification at the cairn on the mountain. SAR teams continued searching for him through the weekend, though had difficulty because of foggy weather.

A massive search effort in Mount Rainier to find a man who’s been missing since Memorial Day weekend ended earlier this weekend.

Dozens of searchers have been looking for 72-year-old Chang Soo Kim in the Beaver Creek forest area, who went missing after splitting up from his family to look for ferns.

An extensive search was launched and continued for five days, then resumed earlier this weekend.

According to Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the body of Chang Soo Kim was found in deep mud during a grid search at the bottom of a valley in Elbe Hills shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Gavin Johnston, Missing from the PCT and Helpful #MissingHiker Tips.

Gavin Johnston, 28, was last seen on the Pacific Crest Trail on 10/18/2018.

Please use the following link for updates:  https://www.facebook.com/Find-Gavin-Johnston-missing-from-the-Pacific-Crest-Trail-WA-2141098792639233/

Additionally, this page is doing something very useful this that I think would be helpful for other #MissingHiker groups/pages/posts/news announcements.

They have a very detailed account of the gear this man was carrying at the time of his disappearance.

Why is this helpful?

Well, the PCT isn't as popular as the AT, and if you spot someone else with "too much" of the EXACT SAME GEAR, that's enough for any rational person to be alarmed and contact authorities. Alternately, in the worst case scenario, if remains turn up and these items are within a reasonable distance, it helps to identify the body.

Human Skull found in Arkansas State Park linked to Missing Persons

Rodney Letterman, a 37-year-old from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, was last seen on Aug. 27, 2017 along a hiking trail in Devil's Den State Park.

According to reports, Letterman went missing under suspicious circumstances when an associate claimed Rodney was injured and hiked back to the trailhead for medical supplies, only to return to the spot Letterman was last seen at, and unable to locate him.

Is this a case of #Missing411, or a suspicious disappearance linked to foul play?
